Course Details:

If you want to be your own boss, working from home on a freelance basis and have an interest in reading then our Proofreading Workshop could well be what you are looking for.

Proofreading is a skill and technique that is always in demand simply because the amount of material that is published each year is increasing. Don’t confine your thinking to books. Let your mind explore just what type of material is published every day and who are these publishers.

Did you know, for example, that the largest single publisher in Ireland is the Government and when you take into account the various Government Departments, the amount of material published is enormous and every document has to be proofread. Then there are all the private publishers including public and private companies, charities and voluntary organisations, schools, Associations, Representative bodies, Semi State organisations to mention but a few and you can now see that this is a very big market.

So what will our Proofreading Workshop do for you?

It will give you the tools and knowledge you need to get started as a freelance proofreader. With our professional friendly approach, who better to teach you than our experts who have been there before you. Learn from their experience, even their mistakes and use your new skills to develop as a proofreader and as a business owner.

We have a genuine desire for everyone to succeed and will do our best to make sure that you do. We offer ongoing support, so even when you are ‘out there’ you’ll have the reassurance of knowing that there is somewhere you can turn to for advice should you need it.

All workshops are limited to a maximum of 10 participants to ensure adequate one-to-one tuition.
