Editing & Proofreading This much acclaimed Certificate award course was first introduced in Ireland in 1997 and has undergone several re-writes since that date. Those students who successfully complete the course are invited to join the Freelance Editors & Proofreaders Association of Ireland (FEPAI). This Association circulates a directory of its members within the industry and also acts as a link between publishing-houses and freelancers.
In the year 2005, over 50 people were profitably and
continuously engaged in freelance editing work organised by
the Association and this work was and continues to be sent
to them for completion in their homes for assignment fees
ranging from €150 to €350, depending on the extent of the
work involved.
