Retention of Learner Information
ITEC – Irish Training & Educational Centre maintains Learner files for a period of 4 years only. After 4 years all the student information is securely destroyed using Secured Shredding and Recycling companies. Learners files will not be accessible after 4 years and learners who have not completed their course at that stage will need to enrol again and pay the appropriate costs if applicable.
To ensure the highest level of security of information passing between our customers and our servers, ITEC uses what is known as SSL. This is an encryption method that scrambles information while it is moving from one source to another to prevent the information being viewed or tampered with.
We also utilise PGP Software to encrypt information from our Online Enrolment form. PGP supports a variety of encryption algorithms, but only those with a 128-bit or greater symmetrical crypto key length. PGP products do not interoperate with products using low-security and easily compromised encryption systems. To ensure the integrity of its products, PGP publishes source code for peer review.
