Course Information:

Programme Duration : A minimum of 36 learning hours through a combination of classroom sessions, self learning, practical exercises, assignments and tutoring. Learners can expect to comfortably complete this programme within 6 to 7 months. The Programme must be completed within 2 years

Learning Outcomes: To train individuals to a level where their business coaching skills will enable them to work efficiently and effectively at the level of First Line Management

Who is this course for? For those with a role in workplace supervision or team leaders and frontline managers.

It will also be of practical use to those planning to use coaching skills in their career and for those who wish to acquire the necessary skills to enhance promotion prospects

About the training: This is one of many professionally orientated Training Programmes provided by ILM which are being delivered by ITEC in this unique blended fashion.

Blended Learning is a combination of home study also known as distance learning, use of the internet to provide Virtual learning and e-learning and face to face learning which is more commonly referred to as classroom attendance. It is now recognised as the most effective way to absorb information and learn new skills.

The inclusion of work based modules makes this Programme format more efficient than sessions which cram lots of content into short time segments.

The Programme commences with an evening induction session followed by 5 classroom sessions covering 4 compulsory Modules. The last evening session will serve as an opportunity to review learning outcomes and advise learners on progressing their qualifications.

The Programme is therefore truly flexible and learner orientated and is highly interactive with multiple practical exercises- if a learner is unable to attend a particular face to face session perhaps because that date doesn't suit or for whatever reason, every effort will be made to facilitate individual situations.

Benefits to be gained from this course : Firstly, all learners who satisfactorily complete the Programme will receive formal recognition in the form of a Certificate awarded by ILM.

Secondly, as well as the immediate and cumulative skills acquired this Programme will enhance you daily working experience through increased performance and more focussed achievement of goals and through self dependence on career development.

Thirdly, it will improve internal promotion prospects and job mobility.

Fourthly, each learner will have their own fully qualified and experienced tutor who will provide tutorial support online at fixed times and will promptly respond to e-mailed queries.

Finally, the class size will typically be in the range of 15 to 25 learners, thus ensuring that the tutor will be able to give each learner ample one to one tutoring and allow for learner interaction.

Included with this course is a Management/Leadership Test which is conducted on our behalf by Verax International. This test has to be taken on line and the results will be sent directly to each student by email usually within 3/4 working days.

The test will allow you to assess your own performance against 16 key management/leader competencies - such as customer focus, decision making, creativity and team working - which are valued by employers and which are very important for effective performance as a manager or team leader. There is one test for managers in the public sector and a separate test for all other managers. Depending on which version chosen, your performance is benchmarked either against 15,000 or so managers in the database or against public sector managers only.

In summary, this unique test will show you what to stop doing (or do less of) and what to start doing (or do more of) in order to become more effective in your current role/activity. In effect, you are told what you need to do to become a more effective manager and team leader and most important of all, how to do it.
